K-5 RESOURCE ROOM
During my student teaching experience at West Gates Elementary, I was placed in a K-5 Resource Room. I had the privilege of working closely with students who require additional support to succeed academically and reach their full potential. In this dynamic and inclusive environment, I collaborated with special education teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and develop tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of each student.
Through differentiated instruction, multisensory learning activities, and personalized interventions, I provided targeted support in areas such as reading, math, and executive functioning skills. Additionally, I facilitated small group and one-on-one instruction and conducted assessments to monitor student progress. This experience not only deepened my understanding of best practices in special education but also reinforced my commitment to advocating for and empowering students with diverse learning needs to succeed academically and thrive in all areas of their lives.

SIXTH GRADE SCIENCE
During my student teaching experience in sixth-grade science at Candlewood Middle School, I had the opportunity to engage with students in exploring the wonders of the natural world and developing their scientific inquiry skills. Collaborating closely with the supervising teacher, I facilitated hands-on experiments, guided inquiry-based investigations, and led discussions to deepen students' understanding of scientific concepts. From exploring the properties of matter to investigating ecosystems and the principles of energy, I tailored lessons to align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and promote active learning.
Additionally, I integrated technology tools and resources to enhance instruction and provide students with opportunities to conduct research, analyze data, and present their findings. Through formative assessment strategies and ongoing feedback, I monitored student progress and adjusted instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. This experience reinforced my passion for inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of science in young minds, and I am eager to continue fostering a lifelong appreciation for the wonders of the natural world as a science educator.

SECOND GRADE
During my student teaching experience in second grade at Otsego Elementary, I had the privilege of working closely with energetic and enthusiastic young learners as they embarked on their educational journey. Collaborating with the classroom teacher, I designed and implemented engaging lessons that catered to the developmental needs and interests of second-grade students. From literacy and numeracy to social studies and science, I integrated a variety of hands-on activities, games, and interactive lessons to make learning fun and meaningful.
In the second-grade classroom, I prioritized creating a warm and supportive learning environment where students felt valued, respected, and eager to participate. Through positive reinforcement, encouragement, and modeling, I fostered a sense of belonging and instilled a growth mindset in my students, empowering them to take risks and embrace challenges.
I also focused on building strong relationships with my students, getting to know each child as an individual, and recognizing their unique strengths, interests, and learning styles. By providing differentiated instruction and personalized support, I ensured that every student had the opportunity to succeed and grow academically and socially.

LONG ISLAND SCHOOL FOR THE GIFTED
During my observational experience in a fifth-grade gifted classroom, I had the privilege of working with a group of intellectually curious and motivated students who thrived on challenges and inquiry-based learning experiences. Collaborating closely with the classroom teacher and specialists, I designed and implemented differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and advanced abilities of gifted learners.
In the fifth-grade gifted classroom, I facilitated enriching and rigorous learning opportunities that encouraged students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and explore their interests in depth. I incorporated project-based learning, hands-on experiments, and real-world connections to engage students and foster a love of learning.
SAINT PATRICK ELEMENTARY
During my student teaching experience in both kindergarten and second-grade classrooms, I had the invaluable opportunity to work with young learners at different stages of their educational journey. Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and support staff, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the developmental milestones, instructional strategies, and classroom dynamics unique to each grade level.
In the kindergarten classroom, I focused on creating a warm, nurturing, and play-based learning environment where students could explore, discover, and develop foundational skills. I facilitated hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and imaginative play experiences to promote language development, early literacy skills, and social-emotional growth. I also emphasized routines, structure, and positive reinforcement to help students feel safe, supported, and successful.
In the second grade classroom, I built upon the foundational skills and knowledge acquired in kindergarten to provide more advanced and challenging learning experiences. I implemented differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of second-grade students, incorporating small group instruction, cooperative learning activities, and technology-enhanced lessons to promote academic growth and engagement. I also fostered a supportive and inclusive classroom community where students felt valued, respected, and empowered to take ownership of their learning.
ALTERNATIVES FOR CHILDREN
During my student teaching experience in a special education preschool classroom, I had the opportunity to work with young learners who required additional support and specialized instruction to meet their unique developmental and educational needs. Collaborating closely with the classroom teacher and support staff, I designed and implemented individualized family service plans (IFSPs) and tailored instructional strategies to address the diverse abilities and challenges of each student.
I provided differentiated instruction to meet the individualized learning goals and developmental milestones outlined in each student's IFSP. I utilized a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based learning, structured routines, and positive reinforcement, to support language development, social-emotional skills, and cognitive development.
